McGavinn Brown grew up on a farm in Simpson County, Kentucky. After graduating as Western Kentucky University's valedictorian, he graduated second in his class from the University of Alabama School of Law. He then clerked for two federal judges: Chief Judge L. Scott Coogler on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama and Judge Eugene E. Siler, Jr., on the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. And then he practiced law with a litigation firm based in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
McGavinn has represented businesses and insurance companies throughout Kentucky's state and federal court systems, and he has negotiated favorable settlements for injured clients across South-Central Kentucky. In 2024, he even argued a case before the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, which is the country's second-highest court.
In 2025, McGavinn formed McGavinn Brown Law Firm PLLC, which is a law firm based in Franklin, Kentucky.
McGavinn also serves as Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the 49th Judicial Circuit, which includes Simpson County and Allen County. And he's the proud husband of Eva Brown, an 8th Grade Science Teacher at James E. Bazzell Middle School in Scottsville, Kentucky.
